Murder By Numbers...not a great movie, but it's entertaining overall. I cannot stand Sandra Bullock, and this movie didn't change that. She's always highly annoying, and her acting, well- it's not the greatest if you ask me. The two crazy murdering kids are somewhat creepy, especially the quiet, loner one- who I saw in the movie Bully. He's sort of weird looking, so maybe that helps. I don't think I could see him playing a normal role ever. Bullock's partner, I have no idea who he is, he is a bit on the nerdy side, and he really doesn't add much to the movie. Then again, he doesn't take away either, so it's not all that bad.
The movie follows the regular formula for this genre. Someone is murdered, some crazy guys did it and are convinced they can get away with it...you have the veteran cop who has issues (we learn she has a dark past, how cliche!), and you have the new guy that partners up with the veteran, and ends up falling for her at the same time. It gets rather predictable in that you know there is going to be some lame backstory with Bullock's character...it'll be traumatic, not very shocking, but very very annoying to hear. They should have scrapped the entire backstory with Bullock's character...it was unnecessary to say the least. In the end, Bullock's character is annoying thru the entire film, and you really don't care what happens to her (atleast I didn't.)
The title (murder by numbers), I've no idea where the number part comes in...then again, I watched this movie 3 weeks ago, so maybe I just don't remember.
There's little here to make it stand out in an overcrowded genre, but it's a decent flick.
