Mirror Mirror is just a terrible movie. A teenage girl, who looks like a scary freak-- looks like Wynona Ryder in Beetlejuice-- and her mother, who is newly widowed, move from Los Angeles to a small town into a new house where a murder took place. A murder and some weird demon stuff involving a mirror that holds the demon and dark forces.

We start out with a murder between two sisters- one kills the other, in the 1950's or 60's. The mirror gets demonic forces from this, and due to the one sister being a satanist or something...practicing black magic.

We meet a woman who is taking care of the estate (the house the mother and daughter move into) and she's getting all the stuff moved out, and she's selling it at her antique store. The mirror is taken to the store as well, BUT- somehow, the mirror gets back into the house and the teen girl likes it, so she keeps it herself.

The mirror, with the evil powers helps the girl defeat the mean girls at school who treat her badly. She befriends one girl, and that girl's boyfriend. The girl at school is played by the actress who plays Yola in THE CHRIS ISAAK SHOW on Showtime. It was nice to see her in this movie, she looks a lot younger, and she was probably the best actor in the film. She was also the best part of the movie overall.

So, the girl who wears all black and has her hair dyed black (the weird freak girl)- her mom is nearly as freaky as she is- uses the power of the mirror to hurt people...including killing one of the biggest bitches in the school.

The normal girl learns from the antique lady that the mirror is what's causing the trouble, and that the weird girl is being controlled by the evil forces in the mirror. The old lady has been reading the diaries and black magic books found at the house that the lady used in the 50's...she thinks she knows how to defeat the evil in the mirror, but she's not positive.

So, a few murders happen...nothing really scary at all...we see some weird demon looking guy come out of the mirror...we see the black haired black clothed girl lick the mirror, lick blood from the mirror, etc.

Then, the normal girl comes by to help defeat the evil.

There's an odd twist at the end, that wasn't very clever or exciting, but I won't ruin it anyhow.

My explanation of the story wasn't very detailed, but the movie just isn't very good...it's surely not scary, and it's not entertaining. The writing is fairly poor- you can tell the writer was a first timer, or close to it. The direction was decent, but it's clear that this is a very cheap movie.

The mother is played by the woman who plays the mother in HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, and she's just weird...she looks as tho she's wearing a wig throughout the entire movie.

If you want cheesy horror- this isn't it...it's not like many 80's horror movies (it's actually from 1990, but it seems very much like 80's horror), it's just plain bad. There is one nice shower scene, so that is a plus when it comes to horror movie T&A- the girl in the shower scene is fine. Very very fine. Other than that, there's nothing of interest here.
