Review of Dead Waters (also known as Dark Waters) 1994

Call this movie whatever you want, I call it bad. It's the confusing story of a young girl who travels to a convent full of killer nuns on some remote island in the Ukraine (atleast I think that's where it was?) We start the movie out with what seems like ten minutes of raining, annoyingly bad sound effects of thunder, painfully long shots of water dripping from the ceiling of a church, running down the sides of windows, etc. The director needs to learn pacing. The first ten minutes or so- there is absolutely NO dialogue. We can only guess what on earth is taking place...some weird nuns holding big burning crosses, just standing there doing nothing...a priest getting caught in a rush of water that breaks down a wall, he tries to swim up, but is stabbed in the neck with a big cross floating in the water. 20 years later, still very little dialogue, and what IS said, it's nearly impossible to hear- very bad sound mixed with very hard to understand accents from very strange characters that don't make sense in this movie or any other. I don't even know how to explain this movie. Nuns working together (in silent - they never speak!) to let loose some demon beast thingy...maybe the devil himself? Something about this girl being born on the island and coming back after her father has passed away...nuns walking around carrying dead bodies, burning more crosses and other such nonsense. This is a movie to be missed at all costs. I got this as part of a 4 movie 2 disc set...I wanted the movie Kolobos, and got this and two others along with it. This one is, by far, the worst of the 4. I have yet to see the 4th, but I can't imagine it being any worse than this. This movie has absolutely no plot, VERY little takes place- just ten minute scenes of someone walking up stairs, or nuns walking around...stay away from this piece of garbage!
My rating? .000001/ 10 ? That might be giving it too much credit!
