NAACP Ad Uses Deception to Cause Racial Divide

VOICE OVER DURING COMMERCIAL:

"Today, the NAACP is still leading the fight to bring justice and equality to everyone."

Funny- the NAACP's idea of fighting is to claim racism against blacks, when the facts show different...then, they get arrested for crossing a police barricade, and that's considered "fighting for justice" as well. These people should be ashamed of themselves for trying to deceive like this.

BACKGROUND FACTS ON THIS STORY

This first link is the story on why Mfume and the others were arrested while protesting. They crossed a police barricade, basically being arrested to make a point (a silly one, but a point, nontheless.) Now, this commercial tries to make it look as tho they were being arrested unfairly because of discrimination.

This second link is text from a roundtable interview with a number of people who have experience as law clerks and attorneys in general. You can see from the facts- there are very few minorities in the pool to pick law clerks from...there are also very few minorities in the top of the class at top law schools in this country. So...of course there will be fewer minorities hired! When most of the top students that get into the pool they pick clerks from are white...and usually women, it makes sense that there will be mostly- (drumroll)- white women! There is absolutely no discrimination here. The numbers and the facts together prove this. Mfume and the rest of NAACP are just keeping up the black on white racism that has always existed within the organization. It's no wonder tho- this is the same group that holds the annual Image awards where only black entertainers are nominated. If that's isn't discrimination, I don't know what is!
