Jewish Groups Blast Byrd's Outrageous Comments
As always, it's the dems who are full of hate and intolerance.
Robert 'KKK' Byrd (former grand wizard of the KKK- (killing the absurd and hate-filled myth that democrats and black americans go hand in hand, while repubs hate all minorities) compared Republican tactics to end the practice of neverending filibusters to block legislation and debate (what a terrible idea, to stop delaying debate on important items!) to the tactics of Hitler and nazi Germany.
Byrd's rep has now come out to claim that he never made such a comment, that the racist senator (Byrd once did a tv interview where he repeatedly used the word "nigger") was merely saying that we should remember the lessons of the past. Byrd is still a powerful senator (how he gets elected is beyond my comprehension), and no one is calling for him to resign his post. Complete hypocrisy when you consider the fact that if a republican had made such a comment about dems, he would be hung out to dry by both dems and republicans alike (unfortunately, the republicans seem to be spineless when it comes to protecting their party members from absurd attacks- remember Trent Lott's ordeal and the refusal of the GOP to back him up at all, when Lott's comments were in no way racist to begin with?)
So, Byrd can be a racist scumbag who compares republicans to Hitler, a charge that compares common sense to the slaughtering of over 6 million innocent Jews...no member of the US federal government should be able to get away with such disgusting rhetoric. It demeans the senator himself (he's already a joke and a laughingstock), and it's an embarassment to our government in general. Idiots like Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Hillary Clinton, Robert Byrd, and others are responsible for the dumbing down of congress, and they're the reason that few Americans respect government officials anymore.
Byrd is the longest serving member of the senate, and if that itself isn't a huge blight on the US Congress, I don't know what is. It's also strange, yet no surprise, that the National Jewish Democratic Council had no comment on Byrds reprehensible statements...just more of the hypocrisy we've all grown to expect from the left in America.
