The UCC Constantly Gives Into Sin
The United Church of Christ, the ridiculously liberal church that caters to all manners or sinful behavior, has a new ad out attacking other churches across the nation...an ad where nice sweet- looking people are coming into church and a gay couple are banned, as are a man in a wheelchair and a black as well (I think these are the people banned from the church in the commercial)...these left-wing loonies want you to believe that Christ condones all manner of sin as long as you give lip service to him, and more important the United Church of Christ.
All reasonable Christians condemn racism and bigotry against the handicapped...but, no reasonable christian accepts homosexuality as anything but a sinful lifestyle that ultimately leads to damnation. The bible is QUITE clear on the subject of sexual relations and marriage...and homosexuality, tho praised within the UCC, is wrong, it's sinful, and it's not to be accepted by God-fearing Christians.
The church's ad is just another absurd attack on other churches that do this crazy little thing...ya know- most of them actually follow God's law as he gave it, and they don't celebrate all manners of sin just to be "inclusive." The homosexual lifestyle should be noted for its sinful nature, and all churches have a duty to make it know that God does not tolerate such behavior. The new ad just shows the church's overall ignorance of Christian doctrine, and it further exposes their unending push to include all people no matter how unchristian their lifestyle choices may be. The UCC is silly to attack other churches for practicing common sense.
I should also point out that two of the major networks (NBC and CBS) have refused to run the UCC's paid advertisement, and I applaud them for that decision.

Homos are wrong, but christians should still preach the gospel to them. We are all sinners and need Jesus's forgiving grace.

only problem is- many of these churches (especially churches like the united church or christ) refuse to condemn the lifestyle, and the ucc goes further and often times praises it.

Why is it that you only follow certain aspects of the Bible? Who are you to pick and choose what to follow and what not to follow?
As myself and Lowdown have mentioned in the past, the Bible accepts slavery.
WHat do you think of slavery? If you say it's wrong, who are you to go against the word of the lord?

first...the bible neither condones or condemns slavery specifically, tho a clear message against forced servitude are found throughout. the bible never praises the use of slavery (slavery DOES exist and did then as well, and merely pointing this out and speaking of it does not mean were praising it) it was a harsh reality that cant be compared to slavery as we think of it...plus, the bible never urges anyone to force any innocent into slavery, tho it does list some rules in some books in regards to slavery as a system overall, and "regulations" relating to this.
slavery, as spoken of in the old testament, was an economic reality, and has been for most of history. slavery doesnt always equal a man being forced into servitude, it should be pointed out.
slavery was used thru much of history, because many had no other way to live...no property, no capital, etc- people had very little choice.
the bible says that anyone who owns a slave should be kind and generous to that person and treat him or her as you would any member of your family. it also tells us every man is part of gods family, and with that being so- everyone should be treated equally.
the bible merely regulates the treatment of slaves...it doesnt ultimately endorse taking slaves and it doesnt condemn it. even if it did, it would matter because were talking about old testament law, much of which is no longer valid today...and the OT itself almost exclusively a history of the jewish people.

[first...the bible neither condones or condemns slavery specifically]
-No, it just accepts it.
[tho a clear message against forced servitude are found throughout. the bible never praises the use of slavery (slavery DOES exist and did then as well, and merely pointing this out and speaking of it does not mean were praising it)]
-Apparently you don't condems it either.
[...plus, the bible never urges anyone to force any innocent into slavery, tho it does list some rules in some books in regards to slavery as a system overall, and "regulations" relating to this.]
-So slavery is alright as long as you "follow the rules"?
[even if it did, it would matter because were talking about old testament law, much of which is no longer valid today]
-So who gets to chose what is "valid" and what's "not valid"? Who told them they can do that? God? You can't mix and match the world of the lord to suite your agenda...

yeah. i condone slavery. howd i ever hide that obvious truth for so long? i mean, heck- i pointed out that the bible doesnt condone it, so that MUST mean im all for it. god yes. im off to buy a few myself right now!
the bible never says its okay as long as you follow the rules. nor did i say any such thing. never got even close to implying as such. the bible does speak of the reality of slavery in israel, and it points out that ALL people should be treated with kindness, respect, etc- treated as a family member would be treated.
no one said we pick and choose what laws are valid and invalid. when christ came, the old covenant was broken and the laws that went along with it were invalidated. that was the order given by christ, not just an arbitrary concept to suit anyones agenda.

OLD TESTAMENT - AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY:
Leviticus 18:22-"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."
NEW TESTAMENT - AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY:
I Corinthians 6:9-11 "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? BE NOT DECEIVED: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor EFFEMINATE ( HOMOSEXUALS), nor ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
OLD TESTAMENT & NEW TESTAMENT JOINED FOREVER:
Hebrews 13:8 - "JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, AND TODAY, AND FOR EVER."
(For a church that carries the Name of CHRIST over its door IT SURE ISNT CARRYING HIS WORDS IN THERE HEARTS AS THE TRUE GOSPEL)
*GOD THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT ARE ONE AND THE WORD IS AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY AS CLEAR AS THE NOSE IS ON OUR FACES. YOU EITHER ACCEPT GODS WORD FOR WHAT IT SAYS OR YOU DONT. OH AND BEFORE YOU TRY TO PULL GOD, JESUS AND THE WORD APART FROM THEIR ORIGINAL MESSAGE AND PURPOSE JUST REMEMBER THIS:
John 1:1 - "IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, AND THE WORD WAS GOD."
*Old Testament or New Testament then or NOW the WORD says what it means and means what it says.
