More on the PETA Idiots

I was watching 20/20 the other night, and they did a disturbing report on PETA. Anyone with sense knows that most of these people are just downright insane...but I wanted to share some facts about the organization.

Here is a rundown of some of the facts reported on 20/20:

• A PETA member has bombed labs that use animals for testing. PETA gave $45, 000 for his defense. The director of PETA says he's a good man, a school teacher, and they put up money for his defense, so he could get out of jail and become a productive member of society. Know what he's doing now that he's out of jail? He's doing speeches and making videos, where he urges people to do anything short of killing to stop the "cruelty" to animals. He says people should go out and bomb labs like he did, to save the animals that are used for testing. PETA has demanded an end to animal testing. I guess we should stop trying to cure human diseases, and we should just let people die.
• To follow up on the point- animal testing has saved countless lives of HUMANS. Animal testing has helped accomplish the following:

1. the cure for polio
2. the discovery and use of penacillin
3. HIV and AIDS drugs
4. cancer drugs
5. vaccines for the measles and the mumps
6. vaccines for rabies
7. advances in understanding of the heart, lungs, and countless other vital body parts

• PETA doesn't believe you should use silk (comes from silk worms), wool (comes from sheep), leather (comes from cows), etc. Looks like everyone is going to be wearing vinyl shoes from now on!
• PETA activists have dumped truck fulls of manure on city streets. Of course, this does very little to the minds of rational people...but, it DOES stink up the street!
• In Boston, PETA activists put on fur coats, poured red paint all over themselves (to symbolize blood), and smeared it all over the sidewalk, the doors, and windows of a Macy's department store. Boston sanitation workers had to come out and clean the mess, which means- the people of Boston had to pay for this idiotic stunt by PETA with their tax dollars.
• PETA doesn't want you to (or for you to be able to) eat honey (they claim bees are mistreated), milk (they say cows are mistreated), meat (it comes from animals of course!), etc. Now, we all know that some of the nutrients vital to your body, you can only get from these products. There are substitutes out there, but science has shown that they do not work in the same way, and that without some of these products, you will not get all the stuff your body needs. Now, lose out on minerals and nutrients you need...PETA demands it of you! Heck, they pour fake blood on people who wear fur...they MUST know what they're talking about, right?

Now, these are just a few examples of how insane these PETA members are, and why you should think before you donate any money to their crazy causes of total animal liberation. I think most reasonable people would agree that humans are more important than animals, and that PETA is a useless organization that just likes to cause a lot of trouble. Any group whose president praises people who blow up buildings, is a group you should stay totally clear of.
