L.A. Requiem
by Robert Crais
short review by Josh Bozeman

The most recent Elvis Cole novel, this is one of the best. Tho, Joe Pike is a character in all of the novels, he really shines in this one. There is a lot of back story on Pike and a lot about how he grew into the man he is today. A young spanish woman is killed, and Cole works to find the killer. Pike, who dated the victim years ago, is very close to the woman's father- a millionaire food producer, and because of this- Pike is on the case. He and Cole work along side a smart LAPD detective, a young woman who has just as much disdain for the head investigators as Cole and Pike. Fast paced novel that begs to be read, this is a great book.
