Hollywood Actors Against War are Missing the Point

The Hollywood actors who sent a letter to Bush telling him not to attack Iraq call a possible strike an "unprovoked war," and they say that a preemptive strike is a terrible idea. These Hollywood people need to learn their place...I'm sure most people agree with me when I say that these guys really make things to simplistic. World politics and worldwide issues are more complex then they make them out to be. It's not black and white. Hussein has been shown to fund Palestinian suicide bombers, as well as many other terrorists throughout the world...terrorists who have killed many innocent people in various parts of the world. There are some signs that point to links between Al Qeida and Hussein, which means he could have some part in funding the attacks of September 11, 2001 in the U.S. With all of that, how could anyone call any attack "unprovoked?" That alone makes their entire letter silly. They seem to want us to not attack first...that's the worst thing that could happen, I guess? What do they want us to do? Wait UNTIL we are attacked before we do anything? Have they never heard of prevention? We have to take care of terrorists before they attack us...that's common sense. No one will argue that Hussein isn't a madman...he is, that's a fact. So, why all the concern over attacking such a maniacal murderer? Innocent people will die in such an attack, they say...true...but if we do nothing- many more innocent people will die from terrorists who have been linked to Hussein and a number of other states in the region. Innocent people die all the time...it's not a goal, we do everything we can to prevent such things, but it's a real part of war...it always will be, until we develop bombs that will knock on terrorists'/Hussein's door and asks to come right in before blowing up...These Hollywood types are out of touch with all of the problems with war. They attack the government's policy, yet they give no other options on how to fight terrorism...it's silly. Until they can give us some better options, and until they understand the complexities of these issues, they need to keep their mouths shut. Act, sing, do whatever...but don't try to become activists while you're at it...
