Well. If you go to the site above, you will see that Karyn is asking for website visitors to help her pay her
$20, 000 in credit card debt. Where did that debt come from? Shopping sprees, makeup, shoes, etc...This woman is clearly a mental midget to start off with, and now she seems to have the world's biggest set of balls. How anyone can start a website and even admit to being so stupid as to spend $20, 000 in shoes and such blows my mind, but asking for visitors to pay it for her is just laughable. She says on her site that she will not file for bankruptcy, because it hurts the economy. We all end up paying for it in the long run with higher taxes in such. That, to start off with, is totally untrue. Second- to not file bankruptcy and expose your stupidity in such a manner is...well, it's very dumbass-like. Or would that be dumbass-ish. Either way...

I'm a girl in my upper twenties who lives in Brooklyn, New York. Over the last few years I've run up quite a credit card bill... let me tell YOU! $20,221.40 to be exact. OUCH! Maybe it was too many morning lattes that pushed me over the edge, maybe it was the Prada pumps that I bought on eBay (They were only $100 - a STEAL!) Who knows! My debt just got larger and larger, and here I am today with a huge monthly payment.

I think this may be one of the best dumbasses we've had so far. We've got stupidity, immaturity, failure to take responsibility for her actions, and so on...she has all the qualities that make a great dumbass. Atleast, I think so.

She claims she is the first online panhandler, which she replies, "I'M SO PROUD." Sad, isn't it?

Well, if you go to her site you can read about how other dumbasses (who unfortunately aren't listed, so we can't nominate them for dumbass of the month) have sent her over $12, 000. You can also read how she still goes out for drinks (something I couldn't even do if I even drank, due to finances) and buys coffee at Starbucks.

Does this Karyn character have a job? Well, she claims she does...tho she says she works freelance (doing what, we all wonder..) Here is part of her FAQ on her site that talks about her "work."

DO YOU WORK? AND WHY DON'T YOU GET A PART-TIME JOB?
Yes I do work. And I actually work about 65 hours a week. I am always working. That's why I can't get a part-time job. I have had a job since I was 15 years old.

I was actually working and making good money for a while, which is when I racked up most of my debt. But then I became unemployed for four months, which really set me behind. When you don't have a job and you can't for the life of you get a job because the economy SUCKS, it kind of throws a monkey wrench into your great elaborate debt pay-off plan. I am now working, but am making less than half of what I used to make (but getting the best experience), and am therefore having problems paying my bills.

UPDATE: I lost my job. My last day of work was Friday, July 26, 2002. I work freelance and the project I was working on came to an end early. I have 4 job leads this week, and hope to be back working by Monday. Talk about crummy timing.

2ND UPDATE: I'm back to work! Monday, August 5, 2002.

Now, call me crazy, but I'm a little suspicious of this "work" she does. She says she works freelance...doing God only knows what. I can't seem to find this info. on her site anywhere. So, that leads me to believe that she is either working only here and there (65 hours a week seems a bit laughable to me), or she is lying and not working at all...or, the possibility that she is full of shit entirely and is committing fraud. Either way, am I alone in thinking this girl isn't doing much to help herself and relying on other dumbasses like herself to save her?

There's not much left to say about this month's dumbass. You can read the stuff on her site yourself and make your own judgement. I'm sure most people will agree with my assessment of the situation, but who knows.
