Release January 10, 2006
The Dollyrots on
CSI: NY
In the studio, new
video and featured on CSI: NY!
After spending
most of 2005 on the road
crisscrossing the US and Canada,
The Dollyrots
jumped straight into the studio.
They're wrapping up their second
album recorded and produced by
Jacques Wait (The Soviettes,
Sweet
JAP) at Seedy Underbelly in North
Hollywood, CA.
Their debut album
Eat My Heart Out was released on
Panic Button/Lookout! Records
(CD) and Dionysus
Records (Vinyl) in late 2004.
The Dollyrots also
spent a couple days on the set of
CSI: NY where they shot some
scenes for the February 1st
episode. They are featured
onscreen playing their songs
"Kick Me To The Curb"
and "Goodnight
Tonight", while lead
singer/bassist Kelly makes her
acting debut!
The band recently
filmed a video for the song New
College (off of Eat My
Heart Out) with the gang at
Semisweet Films. Watch it at
http://www.semisweetfilms.com or http://www.dollyrots.com.
The Dollyrots are concentrating
on getting their second album
ready for a
late spring release and also
planning a spring/summer US tour.
Catch them on CSI: NY February
1st at 10pm on CBS, and at The
Troubadour
in West Hollywood, CA Tuesday
February 7th.

BIO
The Dollyrots are a rock/punk
trio from Los Angeles made up of
two girls and a boy. They
play an energetic style of music
blending indie rock, old school
punk and 60's girl-group charm.
The Dollyrots
spent most of 2005 on the road
crisscrossing the US and Canada
including dates on the Vans
Warped Tour and have opened for
bands including The Go Gos, The
Breeders, The Muffs, The
Soviettes, The Queers, The
Groovie Ghoulies, Go Betty Go,
and more.
After finishing up
their December dates The
Dollyrots jumped straight into
the studio where they're wrapping
up their second album, recorded
and produced by Jacques Wait (The
Soviettes, Sweet JAP) at Seedy
Underbelly in Valley Village, CA.
Their debut album Eat My Heart
Out was released on Panic
Button/Lookout! Records (CD) and
Dionysus Records (Vinyl) in late
2004.
Kelly Ogden
(vocals/bass) and Luis Cabezas
(guitar), friends since middle
school, formed The Dollyrots in
2001 at New College in Florida
while studying botany and
neurobiology. Cleverly
crafted punk songs and Kelly's
distinct voice proved a unique
combination.
The band relocated
to Los Angeles in the spring of
2002 with little more than their
pets and instruments. Amy Wood, a
native to Santa Monica and friend
of the band in their early LA
years joined The Dollyrots in
November of 2004 and solidified
the band's indie-rock sound
The songs off of
their debut range in style from
all-out punk to tender ballad,
sarcastically fun to
sincere. Several tracks
received consistent airplay on
L.A.'s KROQ and Indie 103, NY's
K-Rock, XM Radio, college radio
across the country and charted in
the CMJ Top 100.
The Dollyrots'
music has been featured on MTV's
Real World, LATV and the band has
been filmed playing in an artsy
Hp commercial (2003) and on CSI:
NY (2006).
You can find the
band's tracks on an eclectic mix
of compilations including the
most recent Lookout Records
Sampler, Scratch Magazine, Snake
Oil Supercharm, Kiss or Kill,
Motorbrands, and in independent
film soundtracks.
Eat My Heart Out
recieved great reviews across the
board (Punk Planet, AMP) and was
featured in publications across
the country (The L.A./O.C.
Weekly, L.A. Times, Hitlist,
Phoenix News Times, The
Tennessean) as well as on the web
(LAMusicScene, PopPunk, Live365).
The band is
thrilled with how their second
album is coming along and plans
on shopping it around with a
release as soon as possible. As
always you
can expect The Dollyrots to hit
the highways and bring their
brand of rock n roll to a
basement or theater near you.

Later today, I
will be doing a phone interview
with 938 Live, a radio station in
Singapore, on a segment called
Passion People. They will be
dealing the topic of shows like
CSI and Forensic Files. They will
record the interview with me
today sometime in the afternoon,
but I'm not sure when it will
air. I will be talking about the
show and the effect it's hard on
the minds of the public, the
courts, etc. As well as the
impact the show and shows like it
have had on TV- how they've
become so popular and such. You
can check their website, and they
have clips of this segment. They
can be found here on this
page. I'm having
trouble getting any of them to
play right now, so I'm not sure
exactly what the format and setup
is or anything. I will post more
information when I know more,
along with a link to the
interview which I assume they
will post (it looks as if they
post all these segments to their
site.)

out March 25. You can preorder it
here at
amazon.com
If anyone gets the game and wants
to write a review for the site

Also, CSI was
featured in the newest issue of
TV Guide. David Caruso of CSI:
Miami is on the cover of the
March 8 issue, which you can pick
up now (or maybe it doesn't come
out till next week...I have a
subscription.) Anyhow, I added a
couple of pictures from the
magazine here in the
CSI Yahoo group. I will add these
to the site itself soon.
Finally, there is
a new CSI novel called Cold Burn
by Max Allan Collins. I don't see
a release date, but you can preorder it at
amazon.com. There is also the CSI: Miami:
Florida Getaway: Book One by the
same author which I think comes
out in August of this year.

'CSI' Becomes a Thursday Night
Habit
STEPHEN M. SILVERMAN
| It may be
November sweeps, but it
was just another Monday
and Thursday for ratings
champs CBS and NBC. With
the No. 1 rated
"CSI: Crime Scene
Investigation"
pulling in 27.9 million
viewers last week, CBS
once again topped the
ratings, as specials like
the Country Music
Association Awards and
the biopic "Master
Spy" took a backseat
to regulars like
"Everybody Loves
Raymond" and
"Survivor:
Thailand."
"Master
Spy," the story of
Robert Hanssen, averaged
just 9.7 million viewers
(45th place), while the
CMAs landed in 10th place
overall with 17.6 million
viewers, down slightly
from last year, according
to Nielsen Media
Research.
NBC's
Thursday night slate
("Friends,"
"ER,"
"Will &
Grace") continued to
fill up the rest of
Nielsen's Top 10.
Overall, CBS led with an
average of 14.2 million
viewers, while NBC
averaged 13.3 million;
ABC, 10.5 million; Fox,
7.4 million; the WB, 5
million and UPN, 4.2
million.
For the
week of Nov. 4-10, the
Top 10 primetime shows,
according to the Nielsen,
were as follows:
1.
"CSI," CBS,
27.9 million viewers
2. "Friends,"
NBC, 27.5 million
3. "ER," NBC,
24.4 million
4. "Will &
Grace," NBC, 21.4
million
5. "Everybody Loves
Raymond," CBS, 20.4
million
6. "NFL Monday Night
Football," ABC, 19.4
million
7. "Survivor:
Thailand," CBS, 19.1
million
8. "Law &
Order," NBC, 18.4
million
9. "CSI:
Miami," CBS, 17.9
million
10. CMA Awards, CBS, 17.6
million
