I cannot stand false statements just to prop up someone you support. Pelosi speaks out against Dean's remarks, then she totally contradicts herself by saying that it's really no big deal and that it's a Republican created controversy to avert attention from what she says is a failure of the party to do what it should do for the American people.
So, in Pelosi's world- she speaks out against negative attack remarks, but then she goes out and says that there was nothing to speak out against to begin with. Genius!
This makes it fairly clear that you probably shouldn't even listen to Pelosi to begin with. Why she's wasting her time condeming remarks that she says aren't even an issue to begin with, I've no idea...
"I think a lot of (the controversy) is exactly what the Republicans want, and that's a diversion," he said.Several member of his party have distanced themselves from Dean's comments, and some have even called on him to apologize for the remarks.
But the leader of House Democrats, Nancy Pelosi, saw Republican opportunism in the contretemps.
"The fact is that the Republicans are trying to make a lot of hay out of Governor Dean's remarks because they are failing to meet the needs of the American people," she said at a press conference.
"If Governor Dean were not being effective, they would not be going after him so strongly," Pelosi said.
