Picked this up at wal mart...only using the sub, rear satellites (until I get some wire for my Bose speakers in rear) and the center channel speaker. Still using my really nice Sony front speakers I bought years ago. Not many sound selections (no speciality effects like "stadium," "hall," and that sort of thing which is disappointing, but it sounds good from what I can tell so far...it's nighttime and hard to crank the volume up without waking the neighborhood.
Also picked up a few DVD's. That new They Might Be Giants ABC's DVD (don't ask me why...I just happened to see it across from the home theater systems and I picked it up), Gung Ho (great movie- Michael Keaton is the best), and MADE (Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau- hilarious movie just like Swingers).
And to think, I only went to get my dad something for Father's Day...I end up the night spending over $250 total. I had that horror movie, MALEVOLENCE in my hand (it was $14), but I dropped it in the clothing section, not wanting to spend TOO much. Didn't make much of a difference in the end, I guess. The two DVD movies I bought were $11 total (Wal-Mart is great, DVD's for $5, you can't beat that), and the TMBG ABC's DVD was like $10. The system was $208 after tax.
It's late, I have to work tomorrow, so I'm off...
LOL, all that shopping and still no mention of what you got dear ol Dad? Too funny! You should get a visa or American express gift cards and sign up for Netflix. That way you’d have something new to watch every week. I’ll expect pictures of whatever you purchased because the link didn’t work for me.
