Apologizing for Mistakes Made Well Over 100 Years in the Past

Let's suck up to black Americans for crimes committed 140 years ago!!

This is a terrible idea for ANY business to do this. You can't apologize for slavery when you're nearly 1 and 1/2 centuries past the fact. No one alive today was even remotely involved in anything slavery-related, and we shouldn't apologize for what we had no control over.

It's like asking the family of a serial killer to apologize every generation for the sins of the 1 crazed family member.

These banks are insane when they apologize for stuff that not even their own companies took part in! Well, we've never done anything wrong, but let's apologize for the actions of someone not even closely connected to us and our business (defunt banks that they had ties to?!)

And now we wait for the racists to come forward demanding money from all of us again. Sadly, the nutjobs who support reparations are well aware of the fact that such an event would bring about a massive backlash against black Americans, and racism might actually BECOME a REAL problem (as opposed to the imaginary problem it is today, since institutional racism is dead in the US. Just don't tell Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton the news.)
