Golly. What a shocker! Gasp!
The top leadership of Amnesty International USA, which unleashed a blistering attack last week on the Bush administration's handling of war detainees, contributed the maximum $2,000 to Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign.

Amnesty International has hit the White House for refusing to treat suspected al Qaeda and Taliban terrorists as prisoners of war subject to the Geneva Conventions; for abuses at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq; and for a list of largely unsubstantiated complaints from detainees at Guantanamo.
AI wants to violate the GC, and they want to attack nations who won't go along with this. It's clear, they're attacking the US in order to push their twisted agenda of allowing terrorists special protections they're not afforded, nor should they be afforded.

Great point. Something this group, nor any of the other so-called "human rights" groups care about. Their personal agenda trumps all of these facts.

This is one of Amnesty Intl's problems- they oppose nor support any government. A world with that mindset puts the US on the same playing field as brutal thuggish nations like Sudan, Cuba, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and China. When you see all nations the same, you get into these absurd situations where you attack democratic nations like the US nonstop and neglect to fight the real horrors of the world. AI is a joke, and it will probably always be a joke...they have a fetish with attacking the US, and it's downright pathetic. The group is wasting its time on attacking this nation for imaginary abuses while other nations are left to commit real atrocities right under AI's nose.
