The British newspaper, The Independent proves that they cannot be trusted to give their readers anything anywhere close to "news," and it's made very clear in a recent "news" piece in the paper.
They claim that the US military is faced with an AWOL epidemic (not so), and they explained the situation, in part, by saying this:
The case of Sgt Benderman and those of others like him has focused attention on the thousands of US troops who have gone Awol (Absent Without Leave) since the start of President George Bush's so-called war on terror.
"So-called war on terror." That's a joke if I've ever heard one. What does The Independent suppose the US, UK, and other nations are doing in Iraq, in Afghanistan, etc? We are fighting terrorists, correct? Does the paper deny the scores of terrorist attacks before Sept 11? Saudia Arabia, Kenya, Tanzania, the USS Cole, and so on? Does the paper deny that the events of Sept 11 took place, and that they were acts of terrorism? Does the paper deny that terrorists are currently in Iraq, and that allied forces are currently arresting them and killing those who are attacking innocent men, women, and children on a daily basis in Iraq?
WHAT, I ask, would The Independent call the current war against islamofascists? Can we call The Independent, the so-called "news" paper? I know we can, and this is proof enough.
