I recorded Dean on Meet The Press this morning...I'm home from work, so I can go thru it and comment on his many claims (which I'm sure there will be many.)
Anyhow, for now, I'll type out as fast as I can the info. I'm picking up...might try to write a longer more put-together post with outside quotes, stats, poll numbers, etc.
For now...
Howard Dean on Meet The Press today:
Question: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
Answer: Tom DeLay is evil! He's so evil, I had write down how evil he is, let me read from my list.
Dean says that he's not predjudging Tom DeLay...Russert gets credit for pressing him on his comment about DeLay and how he should go back to TX to serve his jail sentence.
Dean was asked twice...and he said he never once prejudged DeLay, which is PRECISELY what he did.
Russert asks- is it appropriate for the DNC website to have a mock Tom DeLay mugshot on the front page?
Dean's reply: I don't think Tom DeLay should be in congress. Period. Ducks the question.
"You can't trust Republicans with your money." Says Dean
We needed to stay out of Shiavo case (brings up Tom DeLay again with this topic), tho he never mentions the law passed to protect Terri had bipartisan support. In the end, he was really attacking his own party while trying to portray the Republicans of trying to interfer with family matters. (private family matters, 'cept the family wanted to protect their daughter, and her estranged husband with weird motives who didn't act in the manner of a loving husband had ALL the power over her.) Dean neglects to mention these facts as well.
No one can deny Dean is just a lowlife in his attacks...Ken Mehlman would NEVER do this sort of crap. That's the difference between the two parties. Dean says he hates Republicans and they're evil (which he tried to change with Russert)...but you'd never catch mild-mannered Mehlman doing this.
Social Security- Dean keeps saying that Bush wants to destroy the system. He says Bush isn't serious about it. He says that private accounts do nothing to help Americans...that Republicans want to do this, because it gives money to corporations that are tied to the right (nonsense.) When the president is serious about talking about social security, we'll (democrats) sit down and talk about it...until that time, we won't talk about it.
The Democratic Party- no ideas, no action, nothing...Russert points out how Pelosi said the dems don't need a plan for social security, because there is no problem, yet Dean himself says there IS a problem and we need a plan now.
He says DO NOT RAISE TAXES for soc security...yet, the plan he mentions to Russert is one that RAISES taxes. He tries to worm his way out of this by attacking Bush, saying that Bush refuses to take the issue seriously (in Dean's mind, any plan that includes VOLUNTARY private accounts is a joke and not worthy of talking about.) He says democrats will NOT act on social security until Bush drops all parts of private accts. Dean and ALL of the democrats refuse to mention the fact that the private accounts plan is based on...
Dean claims polls show Americans oppose private accounts...but that isn't true. When the poll question is asked without bias, it shows Americans, especially younger Americans support voluntary private accounts. The largest group who don't support it are older Americans who will, in no way, be affected by any such change, so Dean isn't being honest about the public support for private accounts.
[ACTUAL POLLS TO COME LATER]
Dean keeps saying Bush wants social security privatized...tho, he knows this is a lie. No one is trying to pivatize soc security. It will still be the same system in place now, with some slight differences, along with the chance for Americans to CHOOSE if they want to put PART of their money into private accounts. That's not privatization in ANY manner.
Dean (from before): "I hate the republicans and everything they stand for..."
Russert presses him on this issue...
He doesn't hate them as people, only for what they do to the country. He hates deficits (a democrat who hates deficits. wait while I laugh), he hates dishonesty (republicans are never honest.) Dean claimed Bush lied on WMD. Dean himself said there probably were WMD, which Russert pointed out. BUT, Dean said he thought "probably,' so it's okay that he said that and Bush and both parties agreed Hussein had WMD.
Dean claimed Bush said Bin Laden was involved with 9/11, but the President NEVER said this. Dean lies again...
He says we sent troops to war on lies. No one sent troops to war on lies. Not to mention, the war was supported by BOTH parties.
Bush is bad for mecury levels in the water...
With Iraq War, Dean complains Bush lied...even tho Kerry, Clinton, and others said Hussein had WMD (Russert points out). BUT, Dean says- they got that information from the president who lied to them. Well, Dean knows quite well Congress doesn't get that info. from ANY president. They get that information straight from the intelligence community. These democrats had the same intel the president had. Dean praises the 9/11 commission for saying Hussein wasn't involved in 9/11, yet they also said there was no eidence that Bush made anyone lie about intel, that no agency beefed up intel, and that no one lied or mislead anyone PERIOD. Dean only loves the commission when it suits his lies.
Dean admits, Bush never said Hussein was responsible for 9/11, he said it with "nuance"!!! Thank you Russert for pressing Dean on his lies! Dean says there were never terrorists in Iraq before we invaded, tho Dean knows Hussein had training camps built HIMSELF. The world is more dangerous with Hussein out of power, Dean says.
This question and reply was just downright funny...Dean kept saying (over and over and over!) that Bush lied by saying Hussein was involved in 9/11, and when Russert finally called him on his lies, Dean says (paraphrasing here) 'well, Bush never said it, but it was in the nuance of what he said. His implication of Hussein in 9/11 was a nuanced one that was never really said.' And this guy was elected as the party head!!
Rush Limbaugh- Dean attacked him before at a speech (made a sniffing sound and put his finger to his nose, as if he were sniffing cocaine)...tho Rush was never thought to have done cocaine. Limbaugh became addicted to PAIN MEDICATION after a painful surgery in which he nearly went deaf. He took the pills for pain, and Russert mentioned that, as a doctor did Dean think it was wrong to attack a person with an illness (addiction).
Dean says it's galling to be lectured about moral values, and Rush broke his own rules, so he's fair game. It's okay, as a doctor, to attack someone and their illness if you feel that that person preached to you about drug use once before! Dean is a hack as a doctor. He has no apologies, he says. I wonder if such attacks from a doctor on someone with an illness is violating any medical ethics? His obsession with Tom DeLay and his supposed ethics violations (the actions in the house never said he violated ethics rules, tho Dean falsely claims this), I wonder if we should obsess over Dean's own clear ethical violations as a doctor attacking another person suffering a sickness?
Dean claims Bill O'Reilly has "ethical shortcomings," yet doesn't tell what on earth he means by that. He claims O'Reilly attacked families of 9/11 victims. That's not what Bill did. He told Glick (whose father died in the wtc), to shut up and stop spreading his lies...Glick you will recall was the guy who claimed the US was responsible for 9/11, and O'Reilly was rightfully pissed- his father died, and this idiot kid claims the US govt killed him! I'd tell him to shut up too, as would most people. The guy (Glick) was acting like scum. Dean clearly saw the episode, and thus attacks O'Reilly...does that mean he supports Glick's claim that the US government murdered his father? It WAS Dean who (I think it was on Meet The Press before) said that he liked the theory that Bush knew about Sept 11 beforehand. So, maybe he DOES agree with Glick's claims...and it's just a case of 2 nutjobs backing each other up with their outrageous conspiracy theories.
MORE LATER......
With Iraq War, Dean complains Bush lied...even tho Kerry, Clinton, and others
He praises the 9/11 commission , then contradicts himself by claiming
Josh, finish your sentences. This is "writing"? What's going on here?
hooked on phonics. i suggest it.

Excuses, excuses. Lazy blogging. Post quality, or don't post.
The Dems are getting a bit creepy about Dean. Look at this that I found at http://politicalsmartass.com (a super liberal and nasty blog):
http://politicalsmartass.com/cartoon/Bush-Dean-Delay_bg.gif
genius running that website clearly...its all fun and games until 100, 000 civilians are killed? 1. no one in their right mind estimates that many have been killed- those are the numbers from the whackos...2. you see people like that neglect to mention the over 1 million people hussein killed. its REALLY is fun and games when hussen is murdering a million people, but when the US, UK, and others free ten million, its "civilian deaths! evil america!"
pathetic.
