Hollow Military Thank You's from the Left

(255 Words) Posted at May 31, 2005 06:09 AM in Current Events .

I really love the liberal websites that, on memorial day, talked about how they supported the troops (some even said they didn't), then attacked the war they're fighting as stupid, pointless, meaningless, wrong, insert negative word here.

If you're going to say that, why say anything at all? Hey, guys, I support you, but you're fighting a meaningless, pointless war that is wrong...you're putting your lives at risk for nothing.

This is why the military is solidly Republican and usually conservative, because the liberals and the Democrats just don't get it.

Republican: You paid the ultimate sacrifice for your country, and we're behind you 100%.
Democrat: You paid the ultimate price for a war that was never meant to be fought, and you died in vain

And they wonder why, come election time, these brave men and women, with their votes, tell the democrats to shove their hollow thank you's. Well, A LOT of democrats/liberals...there are some reasonable dems out there who don't attack the war while our men and women are fighting it. Unfortunately, there are fewer of the supporters and more of the complainers.

In the end, when they complain about this meaningless, pointless, unnecessary war, they're ultimately saying- we need not do anything when brutal despots murder over 1 million innocent people, attack his neighbors, attempt to assassinate a US president, defy the intl community for a decade, and actively support terrorism...we should let this behavior stand and do nothing. But, still, we sorta support you men and women in uniform...sorta.

Sad.

Great post. Right on the money.

I would also mention that it was Gore and the Democrats that tried to "Count Every Vote" while they were going to court to throw-out military absentee votes during the 2000 election debacle.

And incase you didn’t know, this is good old Daywalker from LJ. Cool blog you got here.

i just dont get why so many democrats are clueless as to why they never have teh military vote. like with kerry, for example...

he supports regime change in iraq for years...is tough on bill clinton for not doing ENOUGH. he talks about it all the time on the talk shows...saddam has nukes and wmd, he says. he needs to be dealt with. the vote comes around and hes all for it! regime change, yes! then he changes that and claims he didnt realize he was voting for actual action, but thought it was the "threat" of action. (after 20 yrs in the senate, hes clueless as to how it all works! i believe THAT!)....then he attacks the war, merely to go to the left of dean. "i voted for the 87 billion before i voted against it" (he promised hed never vote against the money and screw the troops, but he does JUST that)...then he spends the entire campaign attacking the war that HE IS PARTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR!!...all the while trying to say- well, the troops are fighting the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time...but i DO SUPPORT THEM!

thats the normal democratic response to our military.

the war is evil, its wrong, its a lie, but i support our troops...even tho i think theyre dying for nothing. your life has been lost in vain...but, umm i promise im behind you 100 percent!

the two dont make sense together, and democrats just never realize this.

Amen Josh! Most lefties have no clue even which way is up or down in the world, and certainly have not an idea who the good guys and bad guys are. My simple yellow ribbon on my car, has brought me scorn and snide remarks over the past few months. But somehow, they make me out to be the "bad guy". Hmmm

Ahh well, these are the same brand of people who thought Josef Stalin was the Moshiach, and Adolph Hitler was "misunderstood".

O/T...I tagged you...again. heh ;)
