Frist is officially a coward who refused to stand up for The Constitution.
Same goes for the other GOP members that backed down and gave into the dems perversion of the rule of law.
STILL- they will filibuster many of the nominees, and they retain the right to continue to do so to any nominee in the future...only under extraordinary circumstances- which means what? It means whatever the democratic senator at the time feels it means.
This was the GOP selling out the American people...fairness says judges should get a vote, not be obstructed for years, but it turns out, the GOP didn't have the will to fight Reid and his cronies.
Shame on you, Frist, it came time to fight for the people, and you turned and ran away with your tail between your legs. Thanks for nothing!
I think that including Frist in the band of cowards on the right is unfair. I believe he was working on pushing the end of the filibuster with the Constitutional option, and it was stealth liberal democrats like McCain, Graham, Snow, DeWine and others who need to be defeated in the 2006 elections. Americans need to know who sides with people who are the true culprits behind the whittling away at the US Constitution.
I believe Frist should have been more forceful, but I don't think of him as a coward like I do the others I mentioned.
yeah. from what i read first, they were reporting it as tho frist caved and said- we made a deal the constitutional option wont be employed. later in the night, i read that frist said he hasnt taken it off the table and might employ the option...if they made the deal, then i dont know why, but well wait and see.
i used to sort of like mccain, but with this and everything else, i dont care much for him at all anymore.
