E! Online Reports Arrested Development to be Renewed

Before I go to sleep...

E! Online is reporting that 2 of my favorite shows will be renewed for another season-

Arrested Development is coming back! These highly placed sources confirmed late Friday it has been renewed for a full season of 22 episodes. How freaking fantastic is that?

Initially, Fox president Peter Liguori's plan was to order two seasons--hence, the "twins" reference--in order to keep the licensing fee down. But ultimately he went with a single season. And hey, I'll take it.

According to these insiders, even though the ratings weren't exactly American Idol numbers, Liguori, bless his perceptive little heart, has faith that the show will do well in a different time slot. He also wants to bring AD up to the magical episode number required for syndication and feels the show will do very well in repeats and also in DVD. Can I get a "Hell, yeah!"?

And even more good news--I just heard that my unrequited loverboy John Stamos will stay gainfully employed next season. Another rock-solid source tells me ABC has picked up Jake in Progress for 13 episodes.

And NBC insiders tell me The Office also will be coming back for second season. Hurrah!

I included the part about The Office, because- as much as I can't stand it compared to the original UK version, it's grown on me. SOME of the characters are bearable (Steve Carell is completely UNBEARABLE in his role- Ricky Gervais did a wonderful at being insane yet subtle at the same time, Carell is just over the top, and his character is TOO stupid and annoying to be believed), and it's really not a bad show in general. It's just not REALLY funny like the original was.

I was surprised to hear the news about Jake In Progress- ABC was running 2 episodes back to back every week, in what seemed like an attempt to burn them off as quickly as possible and put in a replacement, but hopefully that's not the case and E! Online is right!

Now, if we can just get this same news for ABC's EYES!!!

In other news- I bought an XBOX from e bay and I'm trying to figure out which games I can purchase for it (also on ebay)...

I'm off to sleep now...

The network should listen to you and bring back Eyes. It was one of the few shows I actually enjoyed watching on television.

THANK YOU!!!! I couldn't believe it was just me. The first show in perhaps years I have actually recommended to other people, ALL of whom said "I've never heard of it" followed by "Wow, thanks for telling me about that show!" Too bad they didn't spend a piece of their Desparate Housewives marketing budget for advertising on THIS show. I say ABC should attempt to market this show and run reruns over the summer and see if they don't hear more from fans, I bet they'd be surprised to see how good it really is.
