In the US, if you're convicted of any violent crime with a gun, you are forbidden from owning a gun after you get out of prison.
The US Supreme Court, in all their wisdom, has overturned a ruling in Pennsylvania of a man who was convicted of having a gun after being convicted of a crime with a gun in Japan...The court said that if you look at the law, when it says that a person convicted in "any court" of a violent crime with a gun, it only means any court in the US. It was the 5 liberals on the court that successfully pushed thru this ruling.
Be warned, violent criminals can now own guns, just as long as they were convicted of their crimes OUTSIDE of this country.
THIS is why Americans are disgusted by the judiciary. A cushy lifetime job where you can make all the absurd rules you want. What a deal!
