Scumbag spammer, Jeremy Jaynes (I'd break the law too if I had a girl's last name), was sentenced to 9 years in prison for spamming tens of millions of people, stealing e-mail lists, falsifying domain and contact info, etc. His lawyer is also a scumbag (are there any defense attorneys like this who AREN'T?) in that he is clearly a liar...a story on the spamming mentioned his lawyer's reaction to the case.
Hilarious. The attorney says that prosecutors never proved the mail was unsolicited? That's absurd. Jaynes sent out tens of millions of emails nonstop, 24 hours a day. He also falsified contact information on the spam, falsified headers to beat spam filters, falsified contact info. on domains he set up...all so that no one could catch him. Thus proving that the tens of millions of pieces of e-mail were clearly UNSOLICITED. No one would go thru all the trouble of hiding his true identity (breaking laws in the process of doing so) if millions had actually solicited the spam!! Why on earth do attorneys for scumbags like this guy have to lie and do it so badly? If they're going to come up with ridiculous lies to defend their clients, can they try to make them seem at least somewhat believable?
I'm glad to see prison sentences for such spammers. These guys use massive amounts of bandwidth, they waste our time and our money, they infect our computers, they annoy the hell out of us...I say we lock them up and throw away the key. Show these morons that Americans will not stand for this nonsense anymore.
