The overall state of Academia in the US disgusts me. The system is overrun with loonys who worship at the same whackojob alter that Ward (liar/plagiarist) Ward Churchill does. So sad for the young people in the country that they have no choice but to get educated by people who are, in large numbers, part of an anti-semitic, far left, anti-american group that distorts history, use their classes to attack the US and the US govt, and generally teach their students falsehoods about all sorts of topics.
One example of this lunacy is Professor Jane Christensen at North Carolina Wesleyan College, who spouts her hatred of America, the president, and the jews on her school website. She also includes loaded propagandist questions from some of her tests. Check out her site (which is linked in the article I linked to above), and see how crazy she is for yourself...
Thank God for the people at front page magazine who point out these weirdos each and everyday...
I also wrote an E-Mail to the College president, and I have pasted the text of it below.
I just finished reading a fews articles on Professor Jane Christensen, and I must say that I am disgusted at what she is teaching the students coming into your college. Her school website is filled with hate for America, President Bush, former President Bush, Reagan, Jews, etc. She links to sites that claim Israel is conspiring to attack Americans on US soil, that the Jews are bent on world domination and are leading the fight in Afghanistan and Iraq. She links to communist websites, anti-American websites, and more. The top of her webpage has her in a terrorist outfit! This is quite unbecoming of the college, to say the least.
I'm sure you're aware of all of this, and you're also clearly aware of the damage done to the school's reputation by hiring a woman who is clearly deranged and completely unattached from reality. Students coming into your good college shouldn't have to deal with this nonsense from any teacher, let alone a political science teacher, whose job should be to give a balanced overview of the subject, not a one-sided, extreme anti-American, terrorism-supported view of the world and political science as a field of study.
I wanted to make note that I will lead the charge to have Prof Christensen removed from her position as Assoc. Professor of political science via my website (www.thebluesite.com) and others. I hope that, armed with this information, you lead the charge at the university there to make sure that she hasn't the chance to poison any other young minds with her hatred and propaganda. I have no doubt that you care about the school and the students, and you will do what you can to resolve such an unfortunate situation.

Where to begin. First of all Joshua thank you for your posting. As an alumnus of NCWC and as a former student of Jane Christensen I am not suprised that she is finally publically declaring her thoughts now that she has tenure. I find it very ironic that Professor Christensen so declares her right to freedom of speech under the 1st Amendment when she has denied it so frequently to her past students in her classes. This professor was known for kicking students out of class who challenged her views, subjectively grading tests based upon oppinion and not fact and trying to stop students from wearing yellow ribbons in honor of a deceased classmate at graduation (I would consider all those freedom of expression and speech).

That said I find it apalling that my former college is standing behind her views (including a statement now on their website). If they wish to honor her tenure, I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with her website being hosted by NCWC. I can not understand how NCWC can host a website that is blatantly unfactual in views and speaks such hatred. I also can not understand how they would support a class that would do the same. I would be interested to see the response they would receive if such classes and this website were highlighted in the Wesleyan Magazine sent alumni. My guess is it would not be favourable and that many alumni will not find out about all this because it has not caught national attention (yet). I hope they do and it does!
I aplaud Joshua, Jon Sanders and others who have brought this and Professor Christensen's teachings and views to light. I hope others and I will do all I can to make sure as many people as possible become aware of what is being taught (a word I use lightly here) in her courses.
