Dean Still Clueless On Iraq

(613 Words) Posted at April 21, 2005 08:41 AM in Politics .

The left will NEVER get it. First they made Dean, the FAR FAR FAR left Dean, the chair of their party, now Dean comes out to attack Bush and in doing so claims that we have created a bigger security problem than we had before. (more)

When will the left learn that removing Hussein was the right, moral, and just thing to do, and that no other option that allowed him to rule over the people of Iraq with rape, torture, and murder would have worked? Dean and the others on the left fail to realize what has happened here. There was a free election in a middle eastern nation for the first time ever in the history of that nation...democracy is gaining strength throughout the world, and we all know that democracy is the ultimate weapon in destroying terrorists and those nations that support them. That the left is still attacking the decision to remove a man who murdered his own people is beyond me...I can't imagine anyone with so little sense to take that position. The chair of the party takes that position, and this is why the dems are doomed to fail time and time again. We're in a new era, and Americans aren't going to take the threat sitting down any longer. The left needs to wake up to that reality, a reality they should have been aware of in November after their stunning defeat, but they STILL refuse to see the light.

Dean attacked the president's action in Iraq, but tempered it with a hope of success now that we're involved in the situation:

"Now that we're there, we're there and we can't get out...The president has created an enormous security problem for the United States where none existed before. But I hope the president is incredibly successful with his policy now that he's there."

These comments make no sense, considering Dean was the one calling for the removal of troops from Iraq, even after the war had started and the major part of the campaign had ended. Now, as the DNC chair, he's backtracking? Like Kerry, Dean cannot stick to any of his convictions...the democrats' lack of core values is what is killing them, and they obviously haven't learned that lesson yet either.

Also, he says Bush has created more problems...which is absurd. An Iraq ruled by the butcher of baghdad was clearly a bigger security threat. The terrorists are in Iraq for a reason- they oppose freedom in that country, which means we're doing the right thing by overthrowing the dictator who was a danger to the entire globe, and allowing freedom to thrive in that nation. Dean's point about a security threat is right in that it shows the terrorists are there to defeat the freedom we helped the Iraqis acheive, which shows that it was the right move in the end.

The left needs to realize that the UN is not the end-all be-all of world policy, and it shouldn't be. Removing a brutal murderous dictator was the right thing to do...anyone who would have allowed Hussein to stay in power, watching innocent Iraqi children slaughtered by their "president" and still say that the action was a bad idea- these people are just unhinged if you ask me. You cannot watch a murderer kill innocent people everyday and then tell the world- it's okay...no action to remove this madman is necessary...let's go attack the man who had the guts to stand up to the inactive UN and take out the murderer himself along with a coalition of nations that refuse to sit back and watch, but instead stand up and take action.
