Barbara Boxer, I love when this woman opens her mouth. She makes the biggest ass of herself and does it consistently. On Real Time (HBO) with Bill Maher, she said that she's for the estate tax (Americans have been consistent in opposing it- Boxer is wealthy and lives a lavish life full of perks in the senate, so of course she doesn't connect with average Americans), and she actually said to Maher that she doesn't see anything wrong with the estate (death) tax, because she thinks if Americans make over a certain amount, they're surely thinking that they want to give back to the country and show their love for country...with the estate tax, the government can take up to 55% of your entire assets when you die and try to pass on your assets to loved ones. Clearly NO American supports that, but Boxer was completely serious when she said she knows Americans who die want to give back to their country to show their love of the USA, to help keep our government strong by handing over over half of their assets to the fed.
Is this woman serious?!! The scary part is- she's totally serious. I waited for her to laugh, but she never did. I hope I can find her exact quote from the show, because it's THAT outrageous and absurd. The same woman who cried when Bush was confirmed the winner of Ohio- she never ceases to amaze me with the level of insanity. I actually have to wonder about the sanity of California's voters that keep electing her...they might be a bit more scary than she is.
UPDATE: I found the video of Boxer on the show and transcriber her comment on the death tax. Of course, NO American would say this about their deaths and their assets they worked years to build...and Boxer tries to claim this is the Republicans that are against this, but it's really the American people who are against it. Like I said, no American would ever say this about their hard earned assets being taken from their family when they die in the form of the estate (death) tax. Her comments are so absurd, they'd be funny if they hadn't really come out of her mouth.

MAHER: if youre going to tax anybody, tax dead rich people...BOXER: the fact of the matter is. the estate tax has all but disappeared. except for the wealthiest estates, over $3 million. were even willing to exempt all the family farms, all the small businesses, and just keep it on those who, really got the american dream, and whats so terrible if theyre worth more than 8 million at death that...ya know, you say to this country, "thank you so much. and heres something because i love this country and i want to make sure it has a strong military and it has strong education system and a healthy environment." i dont see whats wrong with it , but youve got the republcianss taking it a different way.
