One thing you can say about the totally inept and corrupt Kofi Annan, he sure has the world's biggest set of balls. Annan is attacking the US and the UK, blaming both nations for allowing Hussein to smuggle oil to Jordan and Turkey, claiming that the US and UK should have been watching for this and caught the ruthless dictator. This comment after the UN Oil for Food scandal proves that Annan and his UN cronies are to blame for the illegal oil sales. Kofi screws up big time, gets caught, then has the audacity to blame someone else! The jewels! They must be so completely massive!! Annan also came out with absurd statements about the Iraq war when he said the war was illegal and basically blamed the US and UK for committing war crimes. Of course, the war was NOT illegal (international law is only law when all nations agree to said law...not the case with action in Iraq...which you will recall was a military action that merely put action behind the words of the UN.) The UN passed 17 resolutions demanding Iraq fully disarm, prove it disarmed, not fire on jets patrolling the no-fly zone, turn over all WMD materials, etc. Iraq did NONE of these things, and the UN refused to act...when the US, UK, and other nations join together to do what the UN promised to do for 11 years, thatleads Annan to call the action illegal?!
All of this from the same corrupt man who, when asked if he would resign his post for his constant screwups and scandals, told a report "hell no." Annan is a prime example of why it's time for the US to dumb the UN (gradually), and form a league of FREE AND DEMOCRATIC nations that will actually get work done, not deal with terrorist states, not condone pacifism, and will actually be somewhat scandal-free. I agree with John Bolton, you could level the top 10 floors of the UN building and no one would notice. It is so clear to all thinkers that the UN's time is over, it need to leave the world stage and leave for good...Annan and others like him are the shining of examples of a world body gone to hell, and if we're honest about it, it's clear that it can't be fixed.
I will say it again- first thing's first...Annan needs to be thrown overboard and NOW. Then, gradually the US needs to keep with international groupings of free nations that do not support terrorism, cut ALL US funding to the UN, demand the UN building be given back to the US (plus the land it sits on, which is currently considered international soil), and remove the UN from the country completely (which means, diplomats, ambassadors, etc.)
After perusing your blog I have come to the conclusion that you have an unusual passion for politics, Mr. Josh. It makes me curious about the everyday issues in your life that you rarely if ever post about.
not that unusual. i post about my life when something happens, but since i have no life and nothing ever happens- it gets hard to post about that sort of stuff. :) unless people suddenly want to hear about what i ate for dinner and what time i woke up and the like.
