As I have mentioned before...there are numerous DVD's that are only available in the UK that I want (I have a number of items in my amazon.com UK wishlist here), and I, of course, need a region free DVD player or a player that has the region lock fully disabled.
I found this awesome player here. The Pioneer 300 DVD changer that will play discs from region 1-6 (I believe that's all region codes).
It's not too bad price-wise...$599 seems reasonable for a machine that holds 301 DVD's.
That, and I again found that British Men Behaving Badly box set I mentioned before but couldn't find yesterday.
Also...I got this book of short stories from the library called MURDER FOR HALLOWEEN, and there's a short story about a detective in ancient Rome in it...I found out that the author of the story, Steven Saylor, has a number of books in a series about this Roman detective. I added a number of those to my amazon.com US wishlist.
I finished Ann Coulter's new book...I liked it. Her articles are always entertaining and insightful...so, this was no shock. There are a lot of columns in the book, from the 90's up through today...and a few of her first columns that didn't make it into publication before now.
Yep...anyhow...
I bought a nice watch 3 years ago, well my parents bought it for me for christmas. It didn't fit tho, despite the fact that I was with them when they bought it and tried it on. Anyway, I needed a link taken out of it (it's one of those kinds), but never got around to doing it, so I've been without a watch for forever. My dad bought a watch the other day for 50 cents...a $40 watch that they were discontinuing or something, so now I'm wearing it. So nice to have a watch period, I had to share.
For some reason...I was deleting spam comments, and it said it went from nearly 2000 comments to just 278. Now, I have all sorts of errors when I use mt-blacklist.
If your comment was deleted (not sure if it's correct or not), sorry.

Our so-called "allies."
French President Chirac snubbed President Bush, yet he had time to visit terrorist Yasser Arafat. Liberals, would you like to apologize now?
http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004512444,00.html
Rejoice, my friends, for "palestinian leader" Yasser Arafat has been pronounced brain dead in Paris.
The terrorist is gone from this place, and must now go to face his punishment from God. Sadly, tho, I fear the new leader will be no better. With the terrorist mindset ingrained in the minds of most palestinians, and their overwhelming support of violence, there's very little chance any new leader would be very different in terms of his hatred for the jews and his support of violent acts against innocent men, women, and children.
Despite these facts, it is good to know that the international terrorist (who at one time exposed the joke that is the nobel "peace" prize) is dead, and his reign of terror is over.
Funny. All the politicians and speakers taking part in this group's forums and such are all democrats.

Wait, I thought Rock the Vote was nonpartisan?
What? They lied to young people for months about a draft being restarted, tho all information points to the very opposite situation? They still claim a draft is coming, to scare young people into voting democrat? You sure they're not partisan?
Golly, I'm just completely shocked, I tell ya...
Btw, Jemhmu Greene- you're an idiot, and you're a liar. Do the world a favor, go away...for good. Just like you're hero, John Kerry. Oh, and if you don't mind, get rid of that disgusting looking afro while you're at it.

Overall, I enjoyed the election night coverage. NBC has, by far, the best show style-wise...with the cool theme music, the graphics with projected winners, the big bush and kerry banners with the vote totals. Fox had the best commentators on- Kondrake, Hume, Barnes, and others...plus, they had a completely different set of people on the Fox broadcast network- Jim Pinkerton (cool guy, also on Fox News Watch), plus Rich Lowry (the editor of National Review) along with Shepard Smith and one or two others (I forget.)
The best website for following the races, I found CSPAN's electoral map easy to follow with great data, raw numbers showed up on a roll-over...along with National Review Online's "The Corner" with tons of different pundits posting nonstop news and commentary throughout the night. I had that page open all night and all morning (finally went to sleep at around 8 AM and woke up again to see John Kerry's concession call being announced on Fox News- around noon, I guess? Maybe earlier.) So, not too much sleep.
Also kept Drudge open all night and morning, and he had a record number of hits to his site...according to the front page of his site:
That's a lot of page views! And in a span of one day.
You'll all notice that the youth vote revolution never took place. All these youth campaigns did a lot of work and spent tons of money, tho it seems the turn out for the youngest voters was the exact same level as in 2000...some younger voters turnout numbers were actually lower from the info. I last saw.
The polls were all pretty inaccurate, especially the ridiculous exit polls which proved to be almost the exact opposite of what really happened with the votes. I have said it so many times- polls are useless for the most part, and they never work (despite the fact that polling is a so-called "science." I assure you, it is not.) Zogby actually posted a note in it's main page saying they were fairly inaccurate with their polling data...a concession, as Drudge puts it.
Thank God Kerry had the sense to concede and not claim victory in Ohio. I was surprised. You can tell the left bloggers are pissed...claiming (once again) that Bush "stole" the election and that it was all fraudulent. Nonsense, of course, but not too shocking that they'd make this silly claim yet again. Good to see Bush taking the popular vote by so many and having a decisive victory in the electoral college.
That's it in regards to the election. I'm off to get something to eat, so I can come back and watch the 4 episodes of THE DISTRICT I have yet to view from the DVR.
I should note to all Home Movies fans that the season 1 dvd 3 disc set comes out Nov 16.
Another democratic sore loser...The Kerry camp refuses to concede Ohio- despite the fact that Bush leads by 150, 000 votes, and we haven't even counted the absentee ballots which will go heavy to Bush (since they're mostly military votes that always go Republican.) Take into account these "provisional ballots," of which they estimate there might be 150, 000- you have to figure that not even half of these will be counted as legitimate ballots, and even if Kerry won 100% (something that can't possibly happen) of these, it wouldn't pass Bush's lead. So, the Kerry camp is sending tons of lawyers to Ohio to drag this out...and on top of all of this, Bush leads Kerry in the nationwide popular vote by over 3 million votes, which means Kerry would have no support by any reasonable people to drag this out like this.
Also, you have to consider that Bush has won over 50% of the vote (Clinton didn't even do this), AND he has set the record for the largest popular vote total over- surpassing Reagan's record.
All of these facts combine to make it impossible for Kerry to not admit defeat.
When Nevada and New Mexico come in 100%, and Bush takes these two states, he'll be over 270, and Kerry should then concede. It makes him and all democrats look like petty sore losers.
First state for our president (George W Bush)...Indiana. My home state.
2nd for Bush- Kentucky...3rd state to Bush- Georgia
Vermont goes to Kerry.
34 to 3 (Bush)
Virginia too close to call...

Interesting...

I've been hearing a lot about how most of the MSM is saying that undecideds almost always break towards the challenger, yet the truth is the opposite- they usually tend to vote for the incumbent. No reason that all of these networks got this wrong, besides the fact that they can't stand the idea of another term for President Bush...sad that the media will lie about such a simple matter as to who undecides generally break for at the last minute. But, it's been reported this way, and thanks to Fox News (especially Brit Hume, Mort Kondrake, and Fred Barnes...I believe Pat Cadell pointed this fact out on O'Reilly this past week as well) for putting the facts out there as opposed to the liberal media's false reporting.
Rush goes into this topic (the undecideds) and also the internals of the polls (which I think are all bunk...thanks again to the Fox All Stars as well as Pinkerton and Thomas on News Watch for also pointing out the fact that the polls are almost all meaningless.)
Tomorrow will be a stressful day for many...waiting for the results to come in, waiting to see how many legal challenges arise, seeing how close it will all be, finding out which states will be needed for victory, and as each state comes in- seeing if it's one we absolutely need or not. No matter...a number of sites have election results that will be posted as they come in, and it will show electoral college counts as they become available as well.
I like the looks of GOP USA's results page...which I will probably be checking all night, as well as watching Fox News all night to begin with.
Just wanted to pass this along.
On the theme of John Kerry refusing to be honest (about nearly anything), here are a few articles on tall tales the Senator has told. From his imaginary trip to a world series game in 1986 to his faux goose hunting adventure, all the way back to the 70's when he claimed to have gone on top secret missions into Cambodia with ultra-cool CIA guys...John Kerry has a lie for everyone. Hunters, military guys and gals, and sports fanatics- John Kerry can tell everyone of these people a phony story. All in an attempt to make him seem more real and more like you. Unlike you, he has a billionaire wife, 6 houses, and a private jet. Trust us tho, he's just like you.
Kudlow points this out, and mentions that Bush did a poor job of pointing this out- he never even mentioned it...which is sad, because it's true. There was no job loss under his administration, just the opposite, and that should be known by all Americans. Kerry has a negative outlook for the country and is full of gloom and doom- tho, he has no right to be this way, and his outlook is not based on reality (as is the case with so many things Kerry says.) Americans are being hoodwinked into believing the economy is a failure (it isn't), and that massive numbers of jobs have been lost (they haven;t.) The partisan lies are old and tired, and I think it's time Americans do their research to find out the truth, instead of allowing the MSM to force feed you their version of the truth.
Tonight on Fox News' Hannity and Colmes, Alan Colmes was talking to New Mexico governor, Bill Richardson, and asked about voter intimidation. He said that in Ohio, Republican lawyers were doing all they could to appeal a court ruling that said polling places couldn't have people to "intimidate" voters. I forget exactly how he said it, but he tried to claim that wanted to defend the right of people to come in and scare voters and intimidate them as much as possible. Insane claim, since he was talking about POLL WATCHERS who, I believe, are mandated by Ohio state law at polling places.
How Colmes gets voting intimidators from poll watchers, no one can know...but, it's this dishonest from the left that is out of control, and the great majority of Americans are just plain tired of it. Colmes is always a dishonest guy on his Fox News show as well as his radio show...so, this isn't too shocking to hear, but it still needs to be pointed out that he, like so many liberals, cannot be trusted to be honest in any reasonable way, and that we have to always listen to what they say to make sure we point out their lies.
On Oct 17, Ann Coulter debated some guy at Amherst College- I forget who it was, but they played it on CSPAN before and just reaired it tonight. I saw the very end of it tonight and most of the first half when it first aired.
Anyhow, on the last question, a girl asked how John Kerry claims to be a catholic and holds the beliefs very dear to him, yet he supports abortion, and how on earth could he claim that he seperates these things into personal and public life (even tho, I should add, he claimed in the one debate that he never puts religion into his policy decisions, yet said that his faith is why he votes the way he does in regards to the economy and the environment, which means he totally contradicted himself and showed his true colors.) The guy debating Ann (a liberal who supports Kerry), started saying that there are people out there that use reason and sense when they make decisions...saying that religion has no part in this. He basically insulted any religious person by saying what they believed is hocus pocus nonsense that is the opposite of using "reason" in your decision making process. It was an outrageous comment that was a blatant attack on ALL religious people as backward fools who base their lives on imaginary rules of religion. Clearly, I don't believe that's the case- only an idiot attacks a Christian by saying, your views are based on phony hocus pocus and you deny reason and logic.
His reply got a lot of applause (again, proving that most college campuses are havens for radical liberals), and sadly Ann had a great opportunity to point out the fact that he just made a radical attack on all religious people, especially Christians, yet she didn't take it, instead talking about how Kerry claims to be religious but isn't- and how he tried to "outgod" Bush with his reply to Bush's comments about how his faith is important to him and what decisions he makes. I was sorry to see that Ann didn't take the chance to pound him on his offensive attacks that the audience seemed to have such fondness for- I hoped that they just didn't notice his attack, but I doubt it.
I love it tho- liberals are the compassionate tolerate ones (but only when it comes to gay rights, abortion, and those who constantly attack Christianity.) The level of stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
Cindy Sheehan, mother of killed US soldier Casey Sheehan, is a disgusting example of partisan scumbags who use lies and distortions to spread false information to the American people. The shameless Sheehan appears in an ad by the reprehensible group, Real Voices (I think that's the group's name)...in the ad, the mother is crying, telling the camera that her son was killed in Iraq and that President Bush lied to her and the country, and she claimed there were no links between al qaeda and Iraq according to the 9/11 commission.
First off, and the dems will never admit this lie, but the president lied to no one. He had the same intel that everyone in the congress had...and we all came to the same conclusion. That conclusion was that Hussein had stockpiles of WMD- the same conclusion reached by British intel services, the UN, Hans Blix himself, and others. So, that's Sheehan's first lie.
Her second lie is the fact that the 9/11 commission, which was a partisan circus run by buffoons, foer the most part, never said there was no link between Iraq and al qaeda. They said there were links, but that they didn't join together in any specific operations. We know Hussein had numerous links with many terrorist organizations, that's not up for debate, because it's cold hard fact. That's Sheehan's second lie.
Her third lie is laying all the blame at the feet of President Bush, when she knows that John Kerry (who is supported in this ad) voted to support the war, tho he later claimed he was voting to threaten the use of force, not actual force itself (dishonestly claimed as such, that is, since he's been in the senate 20 yrs, he knows how these votes work.)
To Sheehan, I say- shame on you. I don't care how sad you are, or how painful this all is- there is no excuse for your choice to decide to lie to the American people, to make your son's death a political issue it shouldn't be. You have disgraced his memory, and you've disgraced yourself. I have not one shred of sympathy for you, because you're a liar, and liars are scum. You're a deranged woman who, in my opinion, doesn't deserve even the opportunity to speak out and spread your propaganda. Your son did a brave thing by going over and giving his life for his country- you, on the other hand, have shamed him and yourself, and nothing will ever change that.
I should also note to the other women who took part in this grotesque campaign...you are all shameless media whores as well, and I say good riddance to you all.
