Overall, I enjoyed the election night coverage. NBC has, by far, the best show style-wise...with the cool theme music, the graphics with projected winners, the big bush and kerry banners with the vote totals. Fox had the best commentators on- Kondrake, Hume, Barnes, and others...plus, they had a completely different set of people on the Fox broadcast network- Jim Pinkerton (cool guy, also on Fox News Watch), plus Rich Lowry (the editor of National Review) along with Shepard Smith and one or two others (I forget.)

The best website for following the races, I found CSPAN's electoral map easy to follow with great data, raw numbers showed up on a roll-over...along with National Review Online's "The Corner" with tons of different pundits posting nonstop news and commentary throughout the night. I had that page open all night and all morning (finally went to sleep at around 8 AM and woke up again to see John Kerry's concession call being announced on Fox News- around noon, I guess? Maybe earlier.) So, not too much sleep.

Also kept Drudge open all night and morning, and he had a record number of hits to his site...according to the front page of his site:

DRUDGE REPORT WAS VIEWED 36,682,486 TIMES IN PAST 24
HOURS.. THE MOST VIEWED DAY IN THE SITE'S 9 1/2 YEAR
HISTORY...

That's a lot of page views! And in a span of one day.

You'll all notice that the youth vote revolution never took place. All these youth campaigns did a lot of work and spent tons of money, tho it seems the turn out for the youngest voters was the exact same level as in 2000...some younger voters turnout numbers were actually lower from the info. I last saw.

The polls were all pretty inaccurate, especially the ridiculous exit polls which proved to be almost the exact opposite of what really happened with the votes. I have said it so many times- polls are useless for the most part, and they never work (despite the fact that polling is a so-called "science." I assure you, it is not.) Zogby actually posted a note in it's main page saying they were fairly inaccurate with their polling data...a concession, as Drudge puts it.

Thank God Kerry had the sense to concede and not claim victory in Ohio. I was surprised. You can tell the left bloggers are pissed...claiming (once again) that Bush "stole" the election and that it was all fraudulent. Nonsense, of course, but not too shocking that they'd make this silly claim yet again. Good to see Bush taking the popular vote by so many and having a decisive victory in the electoral college.

That's it in regards to the election. I'm off to get something to eat, so I can come back and watch the 4 episodes of THE DISTRICT I have yet to view from the DVR.

I should note to all Home Movies fans that the season 1 dvd 3 disc set comes out Nov 16.
