I'm learning a lot about Hillary Clinton- well, a lot I didn't know before, from Dick Morris' new book, Rewriting History, which is basically a rebuttal of Hillary's own book, Living History, which is full of false claims, distortions, and flat out lies if Morris it to be believed.
Two things I have learned so far that make me dislike this woman more than I already do:
In an airport, she happened to run into Sir Edmund Hillary, who was the first man to climb Mt. Everest. So, what to say to this man? Lie, of course. She claimed that her mother named her Hillary and with twp "i's" after Hillary the climber. Only problem- he didn't make news climbing anything until 5 years AFTER Clinton was born.
Another story from the book talks about how Hillary is at a race-relations conference in Boston with some teenagers, and she claims that she was on the soccer team, and a player from the opposing team told her that she hated her kind, and Hillary said- 'you don't even know me,' to which the girl replied- 'I don't have to know you to know I hate you.' An attempt to try to make the kids believe she knew exactly where they were coming from, and from personal experience at that! Too bad this is almost surely a lie, since there were no girl's soccer teams at her high school in the 1960's when this supposed event took place.
There is also the lie- well known to most- where Hillary claimed that her daughter Chelsea was in danger on September 11, claiming that her daughter went for a jog down to the towers themselves, and when the planes hit, she saw the buildings right there and was nearly in peril. Too bad again, since Chelsea totally debunked her mother's phony story in a magazine article. She was realy on the other side of the city, and was woken up with a phone call telling her to watch the news- and she never got anywhere near the towers, instead she was staring shocked at the tv screen most of the day.
These stories, along with the many Hillary scandals from her days in the white house, are very creepy. The woman is a corrupt, lying, power-hungry maniac, evidence would suggest...yet, she's the most popular democrat in the country, and millions would vote for her if she ran for president. That says a lot about millions of people in America. They're clueless. I'm sure, tho, that many among the millions are, in fact, completely tuned into the truth, but just don't care how corrupt she is or how many lies she tells, no matter how small those lies are. She's a phony, and it's clear that she's a phony, yet many people love her. Why? I've no earthly idea. But, it's truly scary that so many people do, indeed, love her; and you have to seriously wonder if they drink the same water that the crazy people who keep re-electing Ted Kennedy drink.
Posted by Josh at August 3, 2004 07:51 PM | TrackBackI don't hate Hillary in the sense that so many so-called liberals hate Bush. My dog's groomer has an "Anybody But Bush" bumpersticker, and to me that is frightful in that I can rather quickly think of dozens or hundreds worse than Bush, even though I'm less than mesmerized by the guy.
(BTW - given the dictionary's primary definition of "liberal", and its entymology, how can a liberal really hate anybody?)
Rather, I listen to Hil's pronouncements, perceive how blatantly false they are, and fear for the voting public who cannot get beyond the crafted image.
There is indeed two Americas: those who love Liberty, and those who fear it.
Posted by: True_Liberal at August 7, 2004 05:01 PMyou mention her crafted image. im reading dick morris' book REWRITING HISTORY, which he says takes apart her book- but, its bland so far, and hes really exposing the true hillary, rather than taking apart her book as it says. he does that a bit, but more just a general overview of hillary and her scandals and how shell bend ANY way to fit a particular voting groups wishes at any given time.
i think people like her- that would do anything just to keep their power, are dangerous. we need people with convictions, solid people who choose and stick with it. not the clintons, both of whom are as fake as can be, and do simply what it takes each day to keep their power.
i think many on the left today have a problem with conviction. you have the howard deans of the left- but, hes a non-issue, always was. then, you have people at the top like kerry- a man who couldnt take a solid position if his life depended on it. before he announced he was gonna run for pres, he was all for regime change, even if it meant we had to do it TOTALLLY ALONE...he becames a candidate and sees dean taking all the glory, and dean (and much of the far left) is anti-war, so he suddenly changes and takes that route. now, hes attacking bush as misleading us/hurting us and our safety, for simply doing the very same thing he supported and advocated as far back as 1998 thru 2002 and part of 2003. ultimately, playing politics with out natl security...saying/doing whatever it takes to get the nomination and to attempt to win the presidency. at least bush is solid and sticks with a position...definitely something that is dire right now.
in the end- those who vote just to keep their positions, theyre never going to help us. those who vote in a way that might be unpopular with some, but is the way he/she chose and the position they stuck with, the one that is better for americans- theyre the men and women we really need.
