Second Note to Democrats

Second note to democrats- get real and do not allow Al Gore to open your convention. Gore went on to claim that not all the votes were counted in Florida in 200 (despite the news media that did numerous recounts and found that Bush did, indeed, win Florida.) Then, he went on to claim that the Supreme Court CHOSE George Bush.

He is now talking about deficits...neglecting to mention a little thing called SEPTEMBER 11!! Then, he claims that the new jobs being created are basically worthless jobs- not true, since no job is worthless, since it helps an American feed their family and themselves.

He goes on to claim that our environmental laws are being trashed (not true), and that our civil rights are being destroyed (absurd), and that Bush has burned the bridges with our "allies." As I mentioned before- they never were allies, and they had unethical reasons to not agree with the administration.

Now, he is claiming that Bush has confused Al Qeada with Iraq (the reports have stated that there WAS a link between the two groups, showing that Gore is dishonest.)

This is disgusting.

Probably more later as I uncover the BS.

Man you're an idiot - in typical partisan fashion you manage to find so called "disgusting" things wrong with any Democratic speaker.

Let's pick this silly post apart -

1.) It doesn't matter who ended up winning the state of Florida at the end. The Surpreme Court stopped the hand recount as mandated by the state of Florida's constitution, with extremely sketchy legal basis at that. It doesn't matter if Bush ended up getting more votes beacuse the Surpreme Court already chose Bush.

2.) September 11th doesn't have too much to do with the budget deficit because this is the biggest deficit in our history. We didn't reach this level in World War I, World War II, Vietnam, or at any other point in our history. Why don't you find some actual numbers to support this claim before blaming everything on September 11th. And yes, budget deficits do matter!

- And you're right no job is worthless, although I'm thinking Gore probably didn't say that exactly since you say "the new jobs are basically worthless." Keyword: basically.

3.) Environmental Laws trashed by Bush -

- Withdrew from Kyoto
- Is in favor of weakening arsenic limits in drinking water (I believe he wanted to raise it from 10 parts to 50 parts in a billion - dangerous to health)
- How about suppressing his infamous EPA report based on that crazy thing called "science" and the energy policy session led by Dick Cheney?

I could go on, but I'm not an environmentalists myself.

4.) You are familiar with the PATRIOT Act and the First Amendment Zones, no?

5.) "They" never were are allies? Who exactly do you mean - Europe? I seem to vaguely recall a time where they were our allies.

- And you're right they did have unethical reasons to not agree with us, although it's not like they had any shortage of ethical reasons too.

6.) Yes I suppose in some sort of strange way there technically was a connection between Al-Qaeda and Iraq. Now you mind telling me how that connection was strong enough to justify Iraq being the next step on the War on Terror, as opposed to Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

Keep uncovering that BS though, you mighty sleuth.

lol. funny. too bad thats BS you came up with yourself. the supreme court "chose" bush? funny. the hand recounts were not being done legally...and it was a mess AND a joke. people were counting some votes that werent even clear to who the voter was wanting to vote for...gore wanted SELECTIVE recounts in certain counties, counties that were majorally democratic in their voting patterns. someone had to put an end to this nonsense. and, you make no sense when you say it doesnt matter who ultimately won...the media called the state for gore hours before the polls closed!! you make no mention of that, not shocking. and, of course, even if the entire state was recounted- gore STILL would have lost. he would have lost no matter what votes were counted, no matter how they were counted. that SURELY matters. dont claim that the divided US supreme court was friendly to bush and broke the law! thats just laughable.

sept 11 doesnt have much to do with the budget deficit? serious question for you...are you insane? thats one of the funniest things ive ever heard. sept 11 that killed the airline industry, the travel and tourism industry, the stock market itself, the financial industry, etc. add to that the fact that a recssion was handed to the bush admin- that didnt have any effect? nahhh. no effect at all.

the kyoto treaty? funny. you mean that piece of garbage that would have unfairly punished the US and killed our economy while letting the other nations that were part of it off? arsenic levels? another junk science claim that has no valid proof and would cost americans billions-
here are two stories proving that its nonsense.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,106135,00.html
as for the energy thing...not sure what issue youre talking about exactly. cheneys energy plan? or something else?

the patriot act? what about it? i hear a lot about phone taps- all the patriot act does is take out a lot of the bureaucracy out of doing things. thats just one example. most of the act just makes sure that the current laws are actually being used. have you had any of your rights taken away? even 1? i didnt think so...

read john gibsons book HATING AMERICA. much of europe has hated this country for decades. america bashing was going strong under clinton, bush sr, etc. its nothing new, so of course claiming were burning bridges and such is nonsense. germanys PM ran on an anti-american platform...why would they EVER go with us in the UN? france...well, chirac and his weasles stabbed powell in the back, claiming they wouldnt veto the resolution put forth. russia- russia is run by a man who might as well just be a mafia hitman. go over to russia and try to run against him. good luck! sure, they were allies decades and decades ago, but that quickly went downhill when money meant more to them than peace and stability.

attack saudi arabia? oh, and destroy the US economy, huh? cut off the spout from out biggest oil supplier? do you have a car? you understand then that without oil, it wouldnt go anywhere...factories would have to close their doors, corporations would all go bankrupt. no, we didnt attack s arabia. thank good. there are better methods to use with them, especially now that theyre helping us in the war on terror.

there was no "technical" connection between the hussein regime and al qaeda. members of that terrorist group were given safe harbor in iraq...terrorist training camps were used by that group in iraq. they were almost surely funded in part by hussein. both groups hated america. both groups planned attacks on america and americans. the dutch (i believe it was the dutch) reported that attah, the 911 ringleader met with iraqi officials numerous times in the yr before sept 11.) those are direct links, not "technical" links.

as for gore talking about jobs...im not sure what word he used, but he DID say that the jobs being created werent good jobs.

dont worry, ill keep sleuthing.

"no, we didnt attack s arabia. thank good. there are better methods to use with them, especially now that theyre helping us in the war on terror"

- I see, so if a country contributes to the wealth of the US.. you use "better methods" to deal with them. If they don't, it's time to invade. How noble.

"terrorist training camps were used by that group in iraq"

- Terrorist's trained in the US too. Should the UN invade your country too?

Seth - you said:

"3.) Environmental Laws trashed by Bush -
...

- Is in favor of weakening arsenic limits in drinking water (I believe he wanted to raise it from 10 parts to 50 parts in a billion - dangerous to health)..."

The 50 ppb limit has been in place about six decades. During this time the life expectancy of Americans has increased substantially. Clinton signed an eleventh-hour stinkbomb to reduce 50 ppb to 10 ppb several years in the future (2007?).

Bush wisely questioned the cost of this question - we quite frankly have other areas where spending this money will extend our life expectancy much more.
