The Problem with the Democratic Party

Okay. A note to all those who support the values of the democratic party.

The government wasn't created to do EVERYTHING. Government should not run every aspect of our lives, or really any aspect of our lives. We were created as a free nation that is no longer very free in many ways.

Taxes should be low for EVERYONE. The entire 20th century has proven that many DOES NOT fix the problems we might have. Our education system is a joke, yet we spend billions upon billions on it. The government should get OUT of education. Private schools work better, and they provide better education- they always have and they always will. In public education, a teacher who has been in his or her job for so long basically gets to stay no matter how poorly they do their job and no matter how poorly their students perform. More money is being spent on schooling our kids all the time, yet there is little to no change in test scores and overall improvement.

Healthcare is not a right of all Americans from the government. Our founding fathers would be rolling in their graves if they knew how much this country spends on healthcare. The democratic party under Kerry says they will cover 95% of ALL Americans...but, the question always comes up- how on earth will this be paid for? Well, we'll tax the rich. Democrats want to cut the Bush tax cuts for the rich and even raise their taxes a few times. I will say it again folks, money isn't the answer. Better budgeting on the part of Congress IS one part of the solution. BUT...Democrats always neglect to mention that such an unfair tax hike on "the rich" would be a disaster, in that- the rich pay almost ALL of the money that funds our country's obscenely money-hogging, completely failed welfare programs. The numbers prove it- welfare has NOT worked, and guess what? It never will. You dole out money to lazy people who refuse to work, and you'll get them on it forever...plus, you'll get more lazy people to join the fray and live off the fed. Welfare has been a total failure, and it's done nothing but create an entire subgroup of Americans who crave government money, and will do anything they can to get it and not have to make their own cash. As I will keep pointing out- the top 10% of wage earners pay 80% of the cost of all of these various, bloated, failed programs. How is it fair to punish Americans who MAKE IT (that's the beauty of our nation...we all are given the chance to do ANYTHING we want), by hiking their taxes when they already pay HUGE amounts in taxes. If you have $10 and you pay a tax of 5%, you pay a whole heck of a lot less than the person with $10. 000 paying 5%. Of course the wealthy get back bigger tax returns...because they paid more to begin with! A hell of a lot more.

Next- raising the minimum wage has never created jobs...this is something that the democrats want to do, claiming if they raise minimum wage, they'll create jobs. Along with this and the removal of tax cuts for those making over $230,000 a year- they claim they can create 10 million jobs within 5 years. Complete nonsense. The minimum wage itself is a job KILLER, and raising the min. wage would kill even more jobs. It would kill jobs mostly for those who democrats claim to want to protect with such actions- the young, the unskilled, the poor. Unskilled and younger workers don't have the skills (get that, unskilled- that's how that works) to find the jobs, and businesses get into a bind by cutting jobs when min. wage is raised. When it's raised, businesses have to cut jobs and have others who are more skilled do more work. Not to mention, they have to cut jobs, because they cannot afford the extra costs.

These are just a few things that should be common sense to most Americans, but it seems that the entire democratic party holds true to such failed values. Values that have gotten us nowhere, and simply using some sense- we could make our country better, and we could create more jobs, give more Americans healthcare, etc.

The dems need to wake up...Americans of all party affiliations will turn their backs if they keep on with their outdated platform much longer.
