The left is claiming that those against gay marriage are pandering in an election year. That's absurd, since polls show that most Americans oppose gay marriage. The left is saying it MUST be pandering because of the timing of the Amendment proposal banning gay marriage. They're clearly dishonest with this assertion, since they neglect to mention the key reason of the timing- the courts have gone past their boundaries in doing the job of the legislature by trying to rewrite the laws and push the liberal agenda upon the American people who refuse to accept it. Of course the time for a ban on gay marriage is now- the courts have acted and allowed gay marriage in Massachusetts, and others are threatening to do the same thing in other parts of the country...the judicial who seems to want to overstep their duties have chosen this time period, not the president, not congress, not Americans across the country who support such a ban. Fact is- the left is pandering with this issue by leaving out half of the information regarding the entire debate...which is, a semi-subtle form of lying. Yes, LYING. When you mention an issue to someone, but you leave half of it out, you're being dishonest, and Americans won't play that game with you.
In another issue- I simply LOVE people who use the word "progressive" to describe their beliefs or their political leanings. It's downright offensive language. "Progressive" you say??
Let's take a look at a "progressive" ideology.
Yes to gay marriage
Yes to homosexuality in our public schools
Yes to teaching kids about vulgar sex acts in school
No to telling parents when a 12 yr old girl wants an
abortion
Yes to abortion in general
No to protecting the lives of unborn children
No to God, especially ANYWHERE in public life
No to that silly, outdated idea of morals
No to concepts like right and wrong
No to religious people- those darned hillbillies
Yes to affirmative action which says to minorities-
"you're too stupid to compete without our help"
No to fairness that allows jobs and school admissions go
to the best qualified REGARDLESS of race or gender.
What's so "progressive" about these various points? What does it mean to these people if you're "conservative"? Does it mean that you're an ignorant fool who is stuck in the past where things with ideas that are all wrong and outdated?
Progressive- it's just plain funny.

- Didn't Bush leave out information regarding resolution 1441 when he was making his case for the war in Iraq? Part of that resolution stated that it would be illegal for any country to go to war with Iraq without the consent of the UN. Bush and Blair both quoted from this resolution but neither of them ever read the part about the war being illegal without the UN. Why didn't you criticize the administration for leaving out information then? Is this not a "semi-subtle" form of lying?
"Yes to homosexuality in our public schools"
-What does this mean?
"Yes to teaching kids about vulgar sex acts in school"
- Again, what do you mean by "vulgar" sex acts?
"No to that silly, outdated idea of morals"
- Being progressive means you're against morality? How so?
"No to concepts like right and wrong"
- How so? Give an example?
"No to religious people- those darned hillbillies"
- So if you're progressive you don't believe that people have the right to practice their religion in the privacy of their own homes or religious establishments?
"Progressive- it's just plain funny"
- I'm sorry that you're so intolerant of other people's beliefs that you feel the need to mock them.
