Palestinians Support Hussein

Shocking...the Palestinians support Hussein, a fact we all knew, and they are supporting him still today. Why? Hussein has sent millions to the people in the area to carry out terrorist attacks...and, because Hussein sent scud missiles into Israel during the first gulf war- in an attempt to terrorize the democratic nation of Israel. They often hold rallies where they burn American flags and threaten Americans, supporting Hussein and Usama Bin Laden.

On the other hand, Israel's PM, Ariel Sharon, supported the US and allies and spoke out against Hussein.

Again, I can't understand how Bush has the audacity to support a palestinian state. Appeasement of the enemies of the United States is NOT a smart move.

-Sure it is. Look at the Marshall Plan after WW2.

The US essentially re-built the very nations they were just fighting against in hopes of securing an American presence, trust and influence in the region.

I see the roadmap to peace and the Palistinian state as a step towards showing them that they are not forgotten, and how the world is trying (tirelessly) to give them their rights and land as well.

Otherwise, you just create bitter enemies and a greater threat and resentment for the US.

Believe it or not, a Palistinian state could be a key turning point in the way the Arab world feels towards the US for the better, in the long run securing the US from terror attacks.

You have to think about it in the future. It's not going to happen overnight.
