If average frats and sororities are anything like the ones on MTV, then these shows, tho basically mindless television, could be a good lesson in how the world works. Anyone see how these idiots act in these organizations? The frat guys like to boss the pledges around and make them perform idiotic tasks...and the sorority girls are just catty bitches who seem to have the maturity level of 4th graders. I saw the last few minutes of the second show tonight, and the girls are telling one of the pledges that she can't stay in the house, and they want her out now. Not sure what she did, but come on, act like an adult. I just don't get how people can act like this on tv without batting an eyelash.
I can't watch these shows without being fascinated by how stupid these kids are. It's sometimes ALMOST as scary as watching that idiot Jessica Simpson.

Real frats and sororities are nothing like that. I mean, occasionally you will find one bad apple that spoils the bushel so to speak, but mostly, frats and sororities are about brotherhood and sisterhood and finding yourself as a person. Eighty-nine percent of US Supreme Court justices have been in frats and sororities, 100% of NASA, and of the 50 largest companies, 43 of them are headed by alums that were in frats or sororites. People really shouldn't believe everything they see on TV.
