Absurd Song Lyrics

That song by City High (awful music) called What Would You do...the lyrics to that song are just absurd. I have pasted the entire song below (read more), but want to take a few parts out here and discuss the insanity of them.

The first verse. Who is talking here? How the hell is he going to sing about this supposedly sad situation if HE'S at some wild party with tons of liquor and strippers? Who the hell is this douche bag to be giving advice to anyone?

Now, the chorus, this is some funny stuff.

"What would you do?, if your son was at home
crying all alone on the bedroom floor, cuz he's hungry
and thee only way to feed him is ta sleep wit a man"

If my son was at home? Since you're too fucking poor to feed him, there's no way in hell you have the cash for a babysitter...so, who is the kid with at home in the first place? Knowing your dirty stripper ass, he's probably home alone playing with your crack pipe.

If he's hungry...here's an idea. BUY SOME FOOD! Groceries don't cost THAT much. I guess it does eat into the weed money you keep back each week tho, huh?

The only way to feed him is to sleep with a man for a little money? How do you figure? FIND A JOB! Ya know...McDonalds is ALWAYS hiring, and you work full time there, you can pay for the food for the both of you, a cheap apartment, and you can even pay for a babysitter. Trust me.

If McDonalds didn't exist, and you found no job on earth (nearly impossible), you could apply for government aid, ya know. Crazy how that works, huh?

"for a little bit of money, and his daddy's gone
somewhere smokin' rock now, in and out of lock down,"

What does the dad have to do with this? If he's selling crack, then he shouldn't be anywhere near the kid...but, again, knowing you- I'm sure he's watching the kid himself, high and getting laid by the young girl next door.

"I aint gotta job now, so for you this is just a good time
but for me this is what I call life"

ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE (who is mentally and physically able) can get a job SOMEWHERE. So, that no job excuse is just ridicukous. Again, if by some magical stroke of satan, you couldn't find a job- you can get help from the government...or charities...or churches...etc. Your excuses are nonsense.

The speaker (whoever the hell he is) comes back saying she can do it, but again, he's the one at the wild boozed up party with strippers, so how in the hell is he going to make a moral judgement or give reasonable advice?

Okay...maybe I'm taking it too seriously, it's just a song. Yeah, yeah...great. Still- it's absurd, and I wonder what geniuses wrote this crap.

[1st verse:]

Boys and girls wanna hear a true story?
Saturday night was at this real wild party
They had the liquor overflowin' the cup, about
5 or 6 strippers tryin to work for a buck
and I-took one girl outside wit me, her name
was Loni, she went to Junior High wit me,
I said, Why you up in there dancin for cash?,
I guess a whole lots changed since I seen you last
She said..

[Chorus:]

What would you do?, if your son was at home
crying all alone on the bedroom floor, cuz he's hungry
and thee only way to feed him is ta sleep wit a man
for a little bit of money, and his daddy's gone
somewhere smokin' rock now, in and out of lock down,
I aint gotta job now, so for you this is just a good time
but for me this is what I call life

[2nd verse:]

Girl you aint the only one wit a baby,
that's no excuse to be livin all crazy
then she looked me right square in the eye
and said everyday I wake up hopin' to die,
she said- nigga I know about pain cuz,
me and my What Would You Do ran away, so my daddy
couldn't rape us, before I was a teenager
I done been through more shit, you can't even
relate ta!

[Chorus]

Ooooo
Then she said, What would you do? if....
Get up on my feet and let go of every excuse
What would you do? if....
Cuz I wouldn't want my baby, to go through what
I went through
What would you do? if....
Get up on my feet, stop makin tired excuses
What would you do? if...
Girl I know if my mother can do it, baby you can do it

Oooo, oooo, oooo-(yea, yea, yea, yea)

[Chorus]

What would you do? if yo son was at home,
crying all alone on the bedroom floor, cuz he's hungry
and the only way to feed him is to sleep wit a man
for a little bit of money, and his daddy's gone
somewhere smokin rock now, in and out of lock down,
I aint gotta job now, so for you this is just a good time
but for me this is what I call life (Come on)

[Chorus]

Ur fukd up bro. The song makes heaps of sense. I guess you just dont know what its like to be in that sort of situation. Having your childs father leave you, not having a job, having to look after a child aswell as yourself. Its not an easy task. Take a chill pill..

yes, youre right...some women DO have to have sex with men just to feed their babies. they have no other choice but to strip, whore themselves, etc. with all the charity and govt programs available out there...and the jobs that are to be had by anyone with a high school diploma (and even those without one half of the time), these women truly have no choice. how will i ever live with myself thinking that people might take responsibility for their own actions. (sigh)

ur screwed . . . u must have alot of time on ur hands to sit and write crap like this. And besides, if u don't like the song, nobody is forcin' u to listen to is and hey it does have a good message. so chill out

exactly. and if you dont like it (my comments), you can just ignore what i said about the song and not call names. the point is- its not a good message. no one HAS to sleep with men to feed her kids. its a song with a horrible message for young people, who are the primary audience of this group.

You ignored the entire middle where they talked about exactly what your saying

Then she said, What would you do? if....
Get up on my feet and let go of every excuse
What would you do? if....
Cuz I wouldn't want my baby, to go through what
I went through
What would you do? if....
Get up on my feet, stop makin tired excuses
What would you do? if...
Girl I know if my mother can do it, baby you can do it
