Joe Schmo

Anyone see Spike TV's reality series spoof, Joe Schmo? Or The Joe Schmo Show, I guess they call it? Not sure.

I watched the last half hour of that show, and it's pretty funny. Nice to see someone making fun of these ridiculous shows...They have all these actors playing contestants on this fake game show called Lap of Luxury, and they have this pizza deliver guy who thinks it's all real. So, they're busy spending their time doing ridiculous games, tho no more ridiculous than REAL "reality shows," like who can keep their hands on the high priced hooker the longest. The characters are all stereotypes of the different people you'd see on a reality show. Check the Spike site for the character info. here. I think the premeire was 2 hours long, so I need to catch the reairing of it on Sunday night- 8 and 11 PM CT on Spike TV.

Here's an article from cnn.com about the show as well.

I watched the show for the first time last night, and I thought it was hilarious and horrific at the same time; I couldn't stop laughing even though I was incredibly disturbed. All in all, I really liked it and know I will go back for more.

However, I just read the CNN article you posted and couldn't help but gasp when I read the last paragraph: "But does Gould agree? He was not available for interviews about the show, and all of the producers declined to talk about how happy or unhappy he is, now that he knows that he was put up, for America's amusement, as a 'Schmo.'"

I hope he's not too unhappy -- he is a genuinely kind-hearted, generous guy.

that whole thing about interviews would be normal, since he would have signed something that said he couldnt talk about the show until it was all over. at least thats my guess. theyd have to do so, since hed ruin it if he gave interviews.

i hate how they try to make the show look like something else. like, last week the preview for last nights episode made it out to be that matt was crying and everyone was crying over him. why do they feel they need to lie to us to get us to watch? and WHY did spike tv play a preview for next weeks show before the end of last nights episode, which totally ruined it, since we knew who got voted off!!
